"Pittsburgh" has called up Russian forward Ponomarev from the AHL

Russian forward Vasily Ponomarev has been called up from the AHL to "Pittsburgh".

Along with the 22-year-old forward, the "Penguins" have moved forward Matthew Nieto.

This season, Ponomarev has one assist in five games for "Wilkes-Barre" in the AHL. "Pittsburgh" traded the Russian from "Carolina" in March. The "Hurricanes" selected Ponomarev with the No. 53 pick of the 2020 NHL Draft.
